Discovery Map Captures Texas Hill Country in Artful Integrated Design
Visitors are ecstatic that a map can so artfully display all of the major communities of the East Texas Hill Country in such an integrated, easy-to-read format.
"This East Hill Country souvenir map is awesome," exclaimed Kirby Fitzgerald, a visitor from League City, Texas. This illustrative, interpretative map depicts this majestic, year-round tourist destination with rich, true-too-life colors, textured with subtle color schemes that convey the unique beauty of the rolling, cedar-studded hills, the abundant cypress trees, serene riverbanks, and the spacious parks. Unlike any other map, Discovery Map showcases the major communities of New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Gruene, San Marcos, and Wimberley--from left to right on the map, in a sweeping pictorial rendering. Tourists enjoy the advantage of seeing how these communities interconnect.

Even more tourists are experiencing the trademark fun and functionality of Discovery Map this year as more than 125,000 maps are in circulation in the East Hill Country. This version of the map contains the latest changes to these local communities, along with the added fun of a "Discovery Map Bobcat Game' that gives readers an opportunity to win a grand prize of a two-night stay in Wimberley if they identify grid locations of 10 bobcats strewed throughout the map.
These one-of-a-kind, 22-inch by 34-inch Discovery Maps are free to visitors and available at scores of businesses that cater to tourists, including visitor centers, chambers of commerce, recreational sites, retail outlets, restaurants, hotels and B & Bs. Paul & Michelle Deere are long-time residents of Texas. Michelle grew up in Lockhart before meeting Paul, an Abilene native, at Texas A&M University.
