Help with choosing glaze for clay?

I recently started making jewelry out of clay, and I have "FolkArt clearcote HI-SHINE glaze" that I spray on after baking and painting. The can says to wait 10 min between coats and to not handle for 24 hrs. Well, that's exactly what I do.. but the glaze never seems to dry! I waited about two days without touching my jewelry and once I touched it, it was still sticky. Should I buy a different kind of glaze? Please help, thanks!

First, you don't mention which *type* of clay you're using.

If you happen to be using a "polymer" clay (Fimo, Premo, Kato, Sculpey, Cernit) rather than an "air-dry" clay, only finishes/glazes that are water-based are safe on them.... petroleum-solvent based finishes can begin immediately or up to six months later to dissolve the clay and make it sticky or worse.
Water-based gloss *sprays* can have the bad stuff only in their propellant though too.

If you were using one of the air-dry clays (Creative Paperclay, Makins, cornstarch clays, etc., or a homemade bread clay, salt dough clay, etc.), then the problem is probably just in the thickness of the spray coating, or the humidity in the area where it's drying; the air-dry clay can still retain some humidity if it's not thoroughly dried too.
Ten minutes of waiting wouldn't be all that long for most finishes in most situations though... I'd guess at least 30 minutes would be suggested between coats for most.
Putting successive coats on before the previous coat is *thoroughly* dry can cause stickiness or clouding... and that's especially true for the thicker kinds of glaze-finish.

(Btw, water-based finishes like this can also be put into a low oven --200-250 F for 5-10 minutes or so-- to speed up their drying, and also to "harden" them.
And, acrylic finishes and paints not only "dry" but they also "cure" after drying which can take up to a week during which they'll get better and better.)
