Finding nude modeling jobs
So you've decided to embark on a career as a nude model. You've probably already done some research on what is required to be hired by various photographers and have some sample photographs to show potential clients. Once you're committed to getting your modeling career started, your next step is to find photographers looking to photograph nude models and compensate them accordingly. Here's a few suggestions to help you land your first paid photo sessions.
One of the most common ways to connect with local photographers is to look at local classified websites such as Craigslist. Do a search for "models" or "modeling" and you will find a number of ads from those looking to photograph models with all levels of experience. Simply respond to the advertisement with some sample photographs to get more information. While this is the most common way of doing things, free classifieds are a popular forum for less than professional or honest photographers. If you decide to take one of their jobs, make sure compensation and the style of the photoshoot is agreed upon before you agree to a photo session. Also make sure to check references of other models in the area that have worked with your potential client to see what their experience was like.
Another popular destination to find nude modeling jobs is one of the highly visited modeling portfolio sites. Most of these websites are free to join although you can upgrade your membership to have a better chance of being noticed. These portfolio boards let models like you connect with photographers from all over the world. You select what types of photoshoots you are comfortable completing, expected compensation as well as all your body measurements and the sample photographs you have. This is a great resource, especially when you want to see the photographer's previous work and check references of models he's worked with in the past.
There are several nude modeling agencies operating as well that connect models of all ages and body sizes with photographers looking to shoot content for their websites or print media. With these types of agencies you will be losing a portion of your compensation per photoshoot but they do work for you, attempting to find you paid work with reputable individuals and companies. If you decide to use an agency, be sure they do not require you to sign an exclusive contract so you can still take individual bookings.
Lastly, if you know exactly what kind of photoshoots you're interested in doing, find a membership based website that offers their customers photographs similar to your comfort level. Most of these websites are constantly recruiting new models and will have a link on their website for those interested in participating in one of their photo sessions.
