Options to Eliminate for Cheap Poster Printing
As the saying goes, "there is no such thing as a free lunch". In life and also in poster printing nothing is truly free. Even if you see poster printing quotations that are almost a steal from a printing company, you should always look for that ever present catch that will cause you to make some sacrifices. Let me tell you about the common options that you will need to eliminate or sacrifice for the cheap printing of your posters. While these can sometimes be really useful and powerful for color posters, it is sometimes important to sacrifice them for the greater good of the poster campaign.
1. Large format poster printing – Big or large color posters are always quite the sight right? Many businesses and projects like printing large posters since they look better and of course have a bigger impact. If you want to save money in poster printing though, large format poster printing is not an option. Printing color posters that large is of course very expensive since there is more paper and ink material needed to create them.
For cheap poster printing to happen, you will need smaller more standard posters such the 11 inch by 17 Inch Poster, or even the more minute 8.5 inch by 11 inch configuration. They will be smaller, but at least they will be more cost effective for you. Just compensate for it with better designs.
2. Shape customizations – Another thing that you might want to sacrifice to get cheaper color posters is to eliminate your option for shape customization. Many designers want to print their color posters with rounded edges, or even in totally wacky shapes like circular posters, posters with holes etc. etc. By eliminating all that extra customization options which of course costs a lot, you can easily cut down a lot of the overall poster printing costs. Some can even save as much as 15% off the printing quotation just because they are just using the printing company template provided with no other changes needed. So cut down on those shape customizations and you should get better and cheaper poster printing costs.
3. Material customizations –You might also want to sacrifice some of the material customizations that you put for poster printing. Those thicker paper materials, glossy inks, embedded elements and even those metallic and glitter additions to the custom posters will of course add hundreds of dollars into the printing costs. While those things will improve the look of your color posters, they will not necessarily make or break your whole poster printing campaign. So in the name of cheaper poster printing, you might want to eliminate those extra special printing requests and just use standard paper for your custom posters.
4. Special Protective coatings – Now, in typical fashion, you might have already been sales-talked by the poster printing company to add special protective coatings to your color posters. These special plastic or aqueous coatings help make the Color Poster more resistant to water and dirt. Now this might be a good thing for long poster campaigns, but if your color posters are just for a month of promotions, then it is not really that economical. You are better off sacrificing those special coatings in favor of a more simpler and cheaper printing configuration. So try to review precisely if you need that special poster coating.
So now you know what you need to sacrifice for poster printing. Believe me; you will get cheaper poster printing quotations if you sacrifice one or all of these options.
