Best Season to visit India is just a month away…
India is an ideal tourist destination and tourism is the largest service industry here, India witnesses more than 5 million foreign tourists every year.
Ideally foreign tourists should visit this place anywhere between October and March as:-
- These months are cooler and the heat of summer is almost gone. The monsoon has said its goodbye till the next year. The weather actually starts to get pleasant post monsoon i.e. September.
- India during this time is in its festive mood and is all illuminated, the celebrations of maximum and well known festivals like Durga Puja followed by Dussehra and Diwali in October-November, all these festivals signify the triumph of good over evil, one can also visit Rajasthan for Pushkar Fair in November, celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, Christmas, enjoy the true spirit of Punjabi festival in January and also be a part of Republic day celebrations in January, India is painted in colors in March on the occasion of Holi, the festival of colors, happiness and oneness.
- You can relish all kinds of festivals and almost of every religion.
There are no perfect conditions to visit India because weather here varies.
India's weather is classified into three distinct categories- Summer, Monsoon, Winter and during winters many parts are snow clad, to travel to India depends greatly on the destinations to be visited and the climate experienced there since climate varies in different parts of this country, some parts would witness a heavy rainfall compared to rest of the parts, same is during summers and winters. In general, Northern India is cooler, the central hot and dry and southern is of tropical nature.
Where to go during summers?
The heat starts to build around end of February or in the beginning of March and by April many places experience daily temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, temperature at this time in south is around 35 degrees Celsius and is also very humid.
Summer can be very scorching in most parts of India, but one can enjoy the hill stations during this season, its the perfect time for visiting the mountains and hilly arears, Nanital, Mussoorie, Shimla, Manali to name a few in the North. One can visit India's National Parks if he/she is interested in Wild Life, enjoy Wild Safari.
Carry light cotton outfits for this season.
Where to go during Monsoon?
By mid July, most of the country witness monsoon that starts around the end of May end and extends till August. This gradually starts clearing from most places in northwest and by September most of the parts are free from rain.
India has two monsoons –- the southwest monsoon and the northeast monsoon. The southwest monsoon is the main monsoon it comes in from the sea and starts making its way up India's West Coast in early June. By mid July, most of the country is covered in rain.
The northeast monsoon affects India's east coast during November and December. It's a short but intense monsoon. States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka receive most of their rainfall from the northeast monsoon, whereas the rest of the country receives most of its rainfall from the southwest monsoon.
It's difficult traveling during monsoon time as the rain often disrupts transport services.
But there is one of the most beautiful and colorful states that one can visit and that is Rajasthan as there is not much of downpour here. Rajasthan can be enjoyed both during monsoon and winter season as summer are scorching hot here.
Enjoy rich culture and heritage, the magnificent palaces, this state has many worth visiting cities like Jodhpur where you can see Jodhpur palace, absolutely splendid.
Visit Udaipur, a city of lakes and surrounded by line of peaks known as Aravalli hills, Jaipur which is also called the ‘Pink City'

End of monsoon marks the advent of Winter season, clear and sunny skies, the best among all seasons for foreign tourists.
South, never experiences the chilling weather like North, its freezing around Himalayas in the North.
Ideal time to hit the beaches in India. The winter season is the time to hit the beaches in India, party on the beaches or just relax here. India's south can be enjoyed during winter from December - February as rest of the year is very hot and humid here. s also a good idea to travel to the desert state of Rajasthan during the winter.
If you like skiing, then good news is that there are so many places you can go ski, Auli in Garhwal Best time- (January till March), Manali in Himachal Pradesh (Best time- January-February) and many more.
